Bringing peace to kids with brain tumors and their families…
The Kyle Daniel Kerpan Foundation is named for and has been formed in memory of a very brave little boy that so loved his life and fought so hard to keep it. Kyle battled brain tumors and related disease symptoms from diagnosis at age two until he lost his battle and passed away at the age of 11.
During the time after his diagnosis, Kyle’s parents, Allen and Joan, and his twin sister, Tessa, fought that battle along with him. What they learned from personal experience in working with Kyle and other patients, families, friends, and the medical community, shapes this Foundation and the activities that are its focus.
We strive to provide activities and programs for patients, siblings, and parents to help them get through the tough times. Every family’s journey is different, but some aspects are the same. Everyone needs emotional support and something positive to focus on.
The primary location we serve is the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), who provided such wonderful care to Kyle and continues to help so many other patients and families.

“How do you get through the tough times?”
"I would just say try to ignore the pain. Try to think of something else. That's what I do when everything's hurting. Think of things you love - like, with me, I like cookbooks or fishing books - or music. My favorite is Phil Collins."
